Program Guidelines


Transportation Program


The transportation program offers full members and full members+ the opportunity to obtain volunteer- provided rides for medical appointments, shopping, and social visits, as well as grocery and prescription delivery from nearby stores.

Members eligible for rides should request a ride at least 3 days in advance of the date, and are encouraged to submit a request as soon as an appointment is made.  The more advance time allowed, the better the chance that a ride will be provided.

Members requesting rides must provide pickup location date and time, appointment time, destination address, reason for trip (medical, shopping, etc.), duration of visit/appointment, return pickup time, any intermediate stops and durations, and any special needs or assistance required to enter/exit house, vehicle, or destination facility.  Significant deviations in schedule times or locations may result in the volunteer refusing or terminating the ride. 

Kemp Mill Village will not be responsible for payment for any toll or parking charges, fees incurred, or purchases made by the member.

If a member has a handicapped placard, it should be given to the volunteer for use during the trip.
If a member has a walker or other assistive device, it should be noted in the request.

Members are asked to complete a post-evaluation after each ride provided.

Please note: Volunteers may not accept payments or gifts of any kind from members.  If a member wishes to recognize a volunteer, a donation in honor of the volunteer may be made to Kemp Mill Village.
